Ive noticed that its more noticeable living in Texas. I do agree people are just more comfortable with their own cultures. Houston is Racist, Dang girl!!!! Thats just crazy! When I told the white police officer what she yelled at me he said: "but you are not black!". They were ignorant idiots, so I just let it go. I wanted the police to make sure they were not still in the lot harrassing someone else. I did call the police as they were white trash, in a beat up car just looking for trouble. I got out of the lot and parked in the front. The guy was coming from the gate towards my car and decided to start hitting it with his hands.
I told her she either moved her car or I would hit it. She called me a nigger and many other things I choose to spare you. She decided that I had cut her off, which I didn't. When I tried to make a u-turn she blocked me and started yelling racist remarks. I decided not to stop at my spot and just keep going. The woman followed me into the private/gated parking lot. I locked my doors and proceeded to enter my gate. The guy came out of the car and walked towards mine. I passed them on the right and they followed me to my gate. I was driving home (around the galleria) and a car was driving between two lanes on my street.
I am caribbean, but can easily be confused for black (if not for my accent). However, I think it is mostly because there are incredibly ignorant people here.
I don't think Houston is Racist, I know it is.

Or maybe it is this image and the things that people see on tv that is giving this group a bad reputation out there. Not sure if it is their attitude that wearing their pants down at their knees, and living the gangster type lifestyle makes them cool or something. Second point I would like to make and this is not to offend anyone out there, but I see more of a racist vibe coming from the black community. When I lived by fondren and richmond where it was a bit shady, I didn't see as much crime as I am seeing today. I have come home twice in the past 3 months to see cars in my parking garage on blocks, and I think I live in a nice neighborhood. This may have a push towards people being more cautious of the people around them and their surroundings. But I have seen that since Katrina and all the Orleans people moved to Houston that crime in this city has sky rocketed. I have lived in Houston for a little over 5 years and I really don't see it as being too racist.
